SAV standard trapezoidal lead screws are manufactured in accordance with DIN 103. High-helix lead screws adopt a special thread angle design to achieve high travel speed at low rotational speeds. The screws are made of stainless steel and formed by cold rolling. They are designed to work with high-wear-resistant EPJ nuts. For higher loads or special applications, EPW nuts can be used.
SAVI high-helix lead screws and nuts feature a relatively flat thread angle, which efficiently converts driving force into translational motion and delivers lower power loss compared with standard trapezoidal thread angles. Thanks to the rounded tooth geometry, noise and vibration are reduced during lubrication-free movement.
Radial loads or torque acting on the nut can cause overload on individual contact surfaces, which will significantly shorten the service life of the lead screw assembly. Therefore, proper screw installation and compliance with all relevant form and position tolerances are critical.
Please note that dimensional changes may occur not only when the maximum rated load is reached but also due to thermal expansion during operation. We recommend conducting practical tests to verify the feasibility of lead screw nuts for low or high temperature applications.
