The maximum operating PV value of EPH plastic bearings is 1.35N/mm2×m/s; this determines that the load endured by the bearing is inversely proportional to the speed. Please refer to chart EPH-1 for details.
EPH plastic bearings can withstand a maximum static load of 90Mpa. The maximum compression deformation of the bearing under this load refers to chart EPH-2. The actual working load of the bearing is slightly less than 90Mpa. The load is also affected by the operating speed and temperature. The faster the speed (Vmax: 1.0m/s), the friction temperature will increase, and the temperature rise (Tmax: 200℃) will cause the bearing capacity of the bearing to gradually weaken. For load changes with the operating temperature of the bearing, refer to chart EPH-3.
Chart EPH-4 shows that the friction coefficient of EPH plastic bearings when the load remains constant while rotating will decrease slightly as the speed increases; Chart EPH-5 shows that the friction coefficient of the EPH plastic bearings when the speed remains constant while rotating will gradually decrease as the load increases, especially when the load is less than 30Mpa. Chart EPH-6 shows that the friction coefficient of EPH plastic bearings has almost no change when the shaft roughness is Ra0.1~0.4um, but the friction coefficient will rise rapidly when the shaft surface roughness is greater than Ra0.4um; we recommend using a shaft with a roughness of Ra0.1~0.4um.
| EPH | dry run | grease | Oil | water |
| Friction coefficient μ | 0.07~0.20 | 0.09 | 0.04 | 0.04 |
Chart EPH-7 shows that EPH plastic bearings are suitable for most axis materials during low-load rotation, while hardened steel shafts perform particularly well under high-load rotation (see chart EPH-8); EPH plastic bearings are more suitable for swing motions with stainless steel shafts, while carbon steel shafts and hardened steel shafts are more effective in rotational motions.
The moisture absorption rate of EPH plastic bearings in standard atmospheric pressure is 0.1%, and the maximum water absorption rate when immersed in water is 0.3%. The extremely low water absorption rate will not cause changes in the performance and size of the bearings, making it very suitable for use in humid environments.
When EPH plastic bearings are exposed to ultraviolet light for a long time, the surface of the material will deteriorate and the compressive strength will decrease.
